This two-day trip will open for you the history of two wonderful and inaccessible cities of Uplistsikhe and Vardzia, completely carved in the rocks. The trip gives the opportunity to visit the resort town of Borjomi, famous for its mineral waters.

Day 1: Tbilisi - Gori –Uplistsikhe –Borjomi - Akhaltsikha

The tour starts early in the morning. We leave for Gori - the heart of Eastern Georgia. The main attraction of the city is the house-museum of Joseph Stalin. This is the unique building in the Gothic style, which keeps more than  60,000 artifacts of the leader, a small tiny house where the leader was born and impressive bulletproof train Stalin used to travel. At 15 kilometers from Gori is the cave city Uplistsikhe (“God's fortress”), listed as a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site. We continue our trip to Borjomi, a city known for its healing mineral waters and the national park Borjomi-Kharagauli. Our last stop will be in the city of Akhaltsikhe.

Day 2: Akhaltsikhe - Khertvisi - Vardzia - Tbilisi

In the morning we visit the main attraction of Akhaltsikhe - Rabati fortress. The name of the fortress comes from the Arabic language and means “fortified place”. Then we are going to the city of Vardzia - Golden Age, the construction of which is attributed to Queen Tamara. The whole complex consists of more than 600 rooms in which churches, chapels, living cells, storerooms, a treasury, refectory and baths were located. At 15 kilometers from the monastery of Vardzia, Khertvisi fortress is located, therefore all visitors to Vardzia pass through Khertvisi walls. In the end we return to Tbilisi.
