Bolnisi Sioni Cathedral was built in 478–493. It is the oldest church building preserved in Georgia. Bolnisi Sioni Cathedral is famous for its Bolnisi inscriptions which are one of the oldest historical documents of the Georgian alphabet.

Continue the tour to Dmanisi - Georgia’s most well-known archaeological site. It has been inhabited since the Early Bronze Age and was later an important stop on the Silk Road. In 1991 a human jaw and teeth showing anatomical similarities to Homo erectus were discovered here. Dmanisi is also a rich archaeological site of Medieval period as it served as a major commercial center of Georgia during the Middle ages. Finish your tour at the Tsugrugasheni cross cupola church of 13th century, famous for its rich ornamentation, particularly stone carvings around windows and arches, and fragments of frescos.
